    I'm still a kid of the 80's

I mean why do people laugh at me when I'm wearing my Wham T-Shirt while I breakdance on a BMX solving my Rubik's cube listening to 'Fame' songs?

Most of that 80s list is late 80s.
I don't really see anything aside from Smurfs and He-Man from early 80s.
It's also very obvious a female wrote this.

I hate to bust a bubble, but most of this stuff started in like 1987-1989 at earliest and continued well into the early 1990s. Some are 1990s only, not part of the 80s (like slap bracelets).

    11. You can sing the entire theme song to "DuckTales"

    38. You had a Skip-it
    51. New Kids on the Block when they were cool --- NEVER "cool"
    52. Knew all the characters and their life stories on the ORIGINAL Saved By The Bell

    _____________________________

If I wrote a list it would include things like:
    - The first day MTV went on the air
    - The first day FOX went on the air (Simpsons, Married With Children)
    - New cartoons: Transformers, Thundercats, Voltron, Robotech, Foofur, Gummi Bears, Wuzzles, Pooh Corner, Mousterpiece Theatre, new The Jetsons, Superfriends, etc
    - those mini-burgers from Burger King
    - when Pizza Hut still had buffets, and Pizza Inn was their only competition
    - when Blockbuster Video first opened their doors
    - your very first VCR, it weighed a ton, looked like a tank
    - when CD's came out
    - when 80286 computers came out, also Apple IIe
    - word processors: not quite computers, not quite typewriters
    - die cast toys being recalled because of toxic Taiwanese paint
    - Ollie North trials, Iran-Contra
    - Reagan on tv
    - the Challenger explosion
    - kids magazines like Highlights, Scholastic Newsletter, Hot Dog and Ranger Rick
    - Iranian terrorists and airplane hijackings
    - Dukes of Hazzard craze
    - thick glasses, colorful plastic sunglasses
    - velcro wallets, usually neon colored
    - installation of Astroturf in some large school stadiums

I'm sure TMNT movies came out in the 90s.

I started school in the 90s and I remember being excited about playing Oregon Trail.

Syndication was what introduced me to Saved By The Bell.

X-Files did not come out until 1993. Early days of Fox was stuff like Tracy Ullman Show.

I'm also of the opinion that, if you were crapping diapers in one decade, you're really not a "child of" that same decade. You won't really remember a thing about the first 4-5 years of your life. You're a "child of" the next decade, as you'll think of everything from 5-15 as being your "childhood" most of the time.

Some people are also half of each decade. Somebody born in 1980 probably only recalls 1985-1995 as "childhood".

To fully be part of the 1980s, you had to be born in the late 1970s. Otherwise you missed some good stuff!

Married With Children was Fox's first show wasn't it? One of my favourite shows and I've been watching a few recently and they are f'in funny 8)

I've been browsing this site reading the info

    www.bundyology.com

I wish they would have done one last season but it's now 9 years since it ended so I don't think it will ever happen but who knows. Married with GrandChildren would be cool if the material was up to scratch

and it all ended because of greed

The very first night of Fox was Married With Children and Tracy Ullman Show. I believe the station went live just minutes before primetime in September 1987. Just going off memory here. I'm sure wikipedia.org has a nice write-up on it.

The Simpsons came out 2 years later, a spin-off of the Ullman shorts.

edit: Actually, it was 4-5-1987 that Fox went on-air for the first time.

    Transformers
    Nintendo
    Mario Brothers
    Atari
    PacMan
    Donkey Kong
    Return of the Jedi
    MTV (when it was MTV)
    Casey Casem on regular TV
    Thundercats
    SilverHawks
Chuck Taylor Converse (favorite drawing in art class)
    Friday the 13th was scary
    $25,000 Pyramid

    Damn, so many more.
