i have some MKV files (8.8GB 26 files) on my PC, i want to burn them on to a DVD.

i used AVI2DVD to cunvert the MKV to DVD, used this guide:
    http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/avi2dvd_page1.html

the problem is that i cunverted a 340MB MKV. file to some 1.4GB DVD files. and i want to burn all the files on 2 DVD5 CD's (13 X 340MB=4.4GB).

how do i convert the MKV to DVD and keep the 350MB size and the original quality of the video and audio?

Put simply, you don't. The mkv's most likely used something more efficient than the MPEG2 used by DVD, plus a non standard resolution, which means converting to a higher or lower resolution when converting to DVD. That is just the video to. The audio is probably low bitrate aac or vorbis.

If you want to fit them on 2 DVD's, my advice would be to burn them as is.

TV out or an XBox with XBMC should do the trick. Also maybe eventually the Z500.

What is the length. With VCD res you can fit ~7hours per DVD5. Dual layer discs would make it even more possible. Not what you originally said though. You said "keep it the same size and the original quality of the video and audio".

  9. You can't keep the same size and quailty and put them on two normal DVDs. You COULD convert the mkv to an avi (the video is probably divx or xvid anyway, likely you'll just be converting the audio from ogg to mp3), burn them onto a couple of DVDs as data, and they WILL play in many standalone DVD players, though no chaptering ect. Use Gspot to identify the audio and video formats, mkv is just the container.
