Hi all,
We have digital camera that records directly to DVD-R/RW. I copied all the files to my local drive for backup purposes. But to be able to edit them, I need to convert this vob files to mpg or avi. (I used to capture video through my ATI All-In-Wonder and save it as an mpg and never have a problem using this process.)
What utilities you recommend to convert vob to mpg or avi, so I can edit them using my Pinnacle Studio 9.
Any help will greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

VOB2MPG And if you want to go to AVI, use VirtualDub with the Panasonic DV Codec and encode to DV. DV is very easy to edit. All keyframes.

Might also check out DGIndex & using either VFAPI or Avisynth edit the frameserved proxy, then re-encode.
If not, might also check out mjpeg &/or HUFFYUV codecs in place of DV... Please forgive, lots of folks love DV, but it is but one choice out of many, with it's own pros & cons, & it is lossy.
Might also check other editing software, but that's just my opinion.
