First off, I'm pretty much a noob to the whole dvd burning thing. I'm reading up on it though trying to educate myself...and getting totally fuzzled in the process. Here's my problem.

I downloaded a DVD, when I opened the file all that was there were VOB files. Checked the source where I got it and all that was there was said VOB files. So I needed my IFO and BUP files correct? Hope so. Anyways, I downloaded IFOEDIT and created these. Came back here (for what seems the umpteenth time) read up a bit more and went to burning...got myself an absolutely lovely coaster out of the deal. Fiddled a bit more and popped the new dvd (coaster) in and I had picture but no audio.

So here I am on my third go round. I'm using Nero to burn with and am fully confident I will end up with a triple set of coasters. This time when it went to burn I got a "failed dvd compiance test...VTS_02_0.IFO file missing" what the hell...then I noticed that all the VOB files were like VTS_02_1.VOB etc for all 5 files. Could it be as simple as renaming them to like VTS_01.1VOB?? Most likely not.

I used Nero Vision Express to import the files, burned them, and once again I got fantastic video but still no audio to it. If it was the files themselves would I still have audio when I play on my computer?? What do I have to do to get this to play on my standalone and how do I do it??? Desperately needing help, hoping to find some. Deep thanks to any who answers.

This is what I would do.
Use TDA and import the VOBs. TDA will convert them to MPGs you can then reauthor the whole thing and burn the DVD.

Got it working. Renamed the files to VTS_01.1 etc and put them through IFOEDIT, set language and VTS sectors. So far it's playing great. Thanks so much for the suggestion and the reply. I got very frustrated and finally posted asking for help.
