Trying to convert an interlaced Mpeg2 file to DivX and preserve interlacing. For the DivX codec setup it shows 2 choices, progressive or de-interlace. The DivX guide shows a third choice to preserve interlace.

Using VirtualDubMpeg2 and DivX 6.1.1 codec for the conversion.

Any ideas why 'preserve interlace' is not showing?

    TIA,

    Chas

    More info and more confused.

Tried using the same codec and VirtualDub in another computer with XP Home and it displayed the 3 options for interlace. The computer with XP Pro doesn't.

Don't know if it's the computer or the OS.

If anyone using XP Pro with Divx6 installed would open VirtualDub and check the Divx6 config/Video/Interlace options and let me know what options are there, I would appreciate it.

I have XP Pro and DivX 6 and I only have 'Progressive' and 'De-interlace' options.

EDIT: Divx Pro 6 seems to have that option and apparenty not the regular Divx 6.

    Yup, I have that option!

Edit: Sorry missed the OS part of your message, I'm on XP Home. Don't know why there should be a difference though.

  5. I have the free Divx 6.1 and XP Pro on one computer -- no interlace option.

    Can you use Xvid instead?

    Thanks for all the replies.

The DivX6 Pro will work with XP-Pro. When I installed the codec on the XP-Home CPU it defaulted to DivX6 Pro trial. Life is good now.
