  1. Ive been using these for some time...recently I ripped Redeye, grim brothers and corpse bride to my hdd. Several weeks later I go to use the latest version of shrink and its giving me some god awful shink times of like 25 hours?

It used to give me maybe a couple of hours in the past....

but my question to you now that I have the files from dvdfab....what can I use to shrink and burn intead of dvd shrink...?

I have already unistalled and reinstalled DVDShrink to no avail....

like I said I'm kinda outdated so any new and easy steps would be appreciated.

Having your PC specs might help, but 25 hours is insane.

Trying to get the timeline right here - you ripped these films some time back - are these the films you are trying to shrink now, or something new ?

  3. sorry in a nutshell

    100 gb hdd
    amd 950 thunderbird
    epox mobo 8tka3
    1/2 gig ram
    win xp

not a powerhouse but it has ripped an burned about 100 dvds with no problem...I ripped these about oh...3 weeks ago..they have sat in a folder until I could get around to them...well when I was able to do so....I get the long times....

If I have the output files from dvdfab what else can I use to shrink and burn.

Like I said I had been using these programs for along time (but always update to newer versions) any ideas would be nice...

I would try ripping one of them again with the current DVD Fab Decrypter. It can take a week or so for the latest Arcoss to be cracked, and the then current version might not have been up to those discs. Just do one again and try to shrink it.

  6. Well DVD Rebuilder is a much better program for shrinking DVDs because it reencodes the video at the new bitrate so the image quality hardly suffers at all. It usually takes longer than DVD Shrink but has never taken anywhere near 25 hours. Try it using HC Encoder with 2 passes.
