LiteOn 5045 Hacked Firmware 197 & 201

With the inability to disable Macrovision in 203 and sparingly in 201, there has been a lot of e-mail sent to me requesting I send them version 197.
Soooooo...............
Do to much demand, I have reposted version 197 and 201 to my site. Version 203 is still there.

I thought it was something I had done wrong. I was about to re-download the 203 version and see if that helped. As soon as I installed the hacked version of 203 back in November I started having problems with timer recordings of TV programs aborting with the error message "protected input source". The timer would abort anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes into a program.

I really don't relish the idea of re-installing firmware because of the hassle of manually removing all of the channels that I don't want to scan. And having to tell the machine the actual channel number the first time a VCR+ number for a new channel is used.

Maybe the person that hacked the firmware will see if he can figure out what is going on. I kind of doubt it though since this recorder is over a year old and they'll probably be coming out with a new model. Those of us with the 5045 prototype are probably stuck with what we have.

Facing same issues as posted here, I recently bought a hardware modified DVD recorder, the Liteon 5005x, with a built-in copy protection remover. I'm very happy with the purchase. Records premium channels or any commercial VHS to DVD.
