Hi,
I have a new Westinghouse 42" LCD and bought the Panasonic ES15 connected via component.
When I put in a DVD movie, it shows on my screen not as widescreen 16:9 but as a letterboxed 4:3 style.
I have settings on my ES15 to show as 16:9 480p, but nothing shows on the screen using 16:9. In order to fill the screen, I have to use "fill" on the TV.
Is this normal that I have to set a stretch style on the TV all the time.
I know that this is probably a really newbie question, but want to make sure I am not missing a setting on the ES15.
Thanks!

Is the dvd you are playing back a recording of a 16:9 program? If yes, 16:9 programs are recorded as 4:3.
