Hello:
I've got some beta tapes with music on them I'm trying to put onto cd.
I recorded from the beta hi-fi to the Pana recorder with memorex Dvd-r.
Yes - I finalized the disc.
the disc begins with the title menu - there are 3 chapters.
I'm wanting to rip the music onto the pc with an audio editing program.
the disc plays in the Apex dvd player in the bedroom but will not read in my Emachine pc.
I've tried opening the disc with Decrypter and Shrink but nothing doing.
How can I read this disc on the PC? When the disc in inserted the pc tries to read it (cursor blinking with the disc symbol) but then nothing.
When you right-click it shows no bytes and opening the file shows nothing.
Otherwise I would have to hook the dvd player (or the heavy beta) into the pc.
Yes, I've searched the forum but didn't find any answers.
thanks for any help.

I think Baldrick is right. You'll probably have to use a different DVD reader to actually see the files on the disc.
Just a note: Unencrypted discs such as this do not require ripping. You do not need to have special software to copy DVD files from an unencrypted disc. Just drag and drop the files from your DVD to the destination on the harddisk (copy and paste works also). -
thanks for the reply:
I installed ISObuster. No help.
It just says "blank cd".
I know the disc in not encrypted but the PC doesn't see the files for me to drag and drop.
I only have the one DVD recorder in my PC - a Pioneer dvr-106.
this is really aggravating.
When I try using PowerDVD - it says there is no disc in drive D!!
what a freakin pain.
thanks anyway.
