After a great loss of revenues due to the increase of new brands such as LG and Samsung, Sony now seems to be leading a total new crusade to become the most popular brand in the world: they are excludding all non-registered users from their forums. They sure have the right to do it, but many people who don't have those applications, just like to discuss technical info - and they do contribute to the development of new products. Now it's all gone. What a pity - those forums were somehow empty and from now on it seems it's gonna get worse.

Their image sure has tarnished in the last while. I used to think "pretty good but high priced" when I saw a Sony ad now I think "no way.. anti consumer....avoid at all cost".

I know some Sony Pictures DVD movies may slip by me and into my shopping cart once or twice but overall I can't see myself buying anything Sony anytime soon.

I am not particularly anti Sony but I just have negative vibes when I see their brand now.

LG has climbed in my estimation. With the others it depends on the product.

Funny how consumer opinion can change in a short time.

I do agree with you. Anyway, Sony's decision is definitely obnoxious and against all the trends in the Software Industry. Its seems Sony is very annoyed by simple mortals, domestic users, most of the people that were getting into those forums. Hope they don't push VideoHelp to do the same thing.
    Cheers!

I fall into the group of people who don't really know what to think of Sony anymore. I mean, this company brought us the Walkman and countless other great products over the years. As such, I'd LIKE to like the company...I really would...but lately there has been too much bad publicity (well deserved, at that).

For me, right now, I won't support a company with such a blatant "screw you" attitude. The locked forums seem to be perfect example of this. My business will go elsewhere.
