i've searched everywhere about this player I already own here in US.I wanted to hack it region free [7-8-9-ok-0],send it to Europe.
But will this player play PAL DVDs on their PAL TV?

I know it plays any DVD on NTSC,but http://www.220-electronics.com/ says:

NTSC and PAL compatible - plays NTSC USA or European PAL discs on American NTSC TV !!!

    or

PAL playback on NTSC TV and NTSC playback on Pal TV:
This player will play pal discs on a NTSC tv, and NTSC discs on a Pal tv

    any1 knows?

    just want to make sure

    thanx in advance

I'm not at home right now and when I am I won't remember to check (sorry). Since you own one, just look in the setup for TV Output or something like that. If you see something like this:
    NTSC
    PAL
    AUTO
then yes, it will play PAL DVDs in PAL on PAL TVs by setting the TV Output to PAL. I'm pretty sure that this setting exists, but you can check it sooner than me.

Since you might be a little confused, here is what those setting mean.
NTSC - means play everything in NTSC output, regardless of the format it's really in.
PAL - means play everything in PAL output, regardless of the format it's really in.
AUTO - means display either PAL or NTSC output so that the disc is displayed in the same format it was made in. NTSC discs display as NTSC, PAL discs display as PAL. You need a multi-standard TV to use this setting correctly.

  6. The more important thing to remember is the difference in voltage in america vs. europe. The DVP642 is geared for 110v whereas european voltage is mostly 220-250 volts.

You can have the voltage changed by an electrician, though it might be simpler getting a european equivalent to the DVP642 (DVP630), though now they are phasing out the 642 for the 5100.
