  1. Hi guys.

I own around 350 dvds and I would like to make entire (Menus extras, etc.) backup copies of my entire collection.

After trying different types of software, such as Dvdv2 one, DvdShrink, and others, the easiest one that my wife is able to operate is DVDXCopy.
But, I would like to put a logo, or a message such as...I bough this DVD and it is my back up my friend!!!...something like this...
I have several friends that ask me to borrow some movies to them and I would like to give them a message...
So, is there a way that I could add a logo or a pic file containg MY warning instead of the dvdxcopy warning???
Also, could I do this inside the software, so each time my wife makes a backup it automaticly loads the created pic (logo) file??
    HOW???

    Thank you all!!!

Things started to go south right about here.

This is JMHO here, but first question is, WTF ? Why bother ? With the ricght knowledge and the right software it wouldn't take too much to achieve this, but is the effort of doing this even worth it ? If your friends know ANYTHING they'll work out how to use VOBBlanker to remove your warning within about 3 seconds. If you don't want your friends copying your DVDs, don't lend them to them. Easy as that

I'm pretty sure that DVDXCopy cannot do what you wish to do. However, output as normal with DVDXCopy and then use something like DVDRemake and what you want to do is not that difficult.
    If in doubt, Google it.

If you want something canned on every DVD, personal opinion is you might want to check out some authoring apps & if one works for you, create a template -- kind'a like in Word template where basic stuff is there every time.

Myself, every time I do a DVD from capture, make two copies, & whichever of the relatives gets it 1st, so-be-it. They can keep 'em, swap 'em, whatever, but I'm out'a the picture.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't DVDXCopy only split discs that too large for single layer? I don't follow DVDXCopy too much, as I used once and found it to be utterly USELESS!!!

Seriously... OTP, there are easier things than DVDXCopy. DVDShrink is just about idiot proof. If your wife can't operate that (who lets their wife do their dvd backups?) then she deserves a good whack on the head because she is a RETARD!

    Disclaimer:
No offense intended to those people with mentally challenged spouses.

No wives were actually injured while creating this post.

The sexist remark about wives backing up DVDs was intended, but not very tasteful.

    Thanks...

Apparantly, there was another version DVDXCOPY EXPRESS that shrunk the dvd to one disc. I also found DVDXCOPY useless as well.

  6. I took it as he wants to remind his friends to return the movies, not keep them from copying them.

Sounds to me like it's a "If you are that worried, then don't do it" situation.

Seriously, if your friends cannot return your movies or you are worried about them copying the discs(which seems to be the case), then don't lend them out. Simple.

An alternative (which I use) is to use something like Collectorz DVD for a dual purpose:
    1. Catalogue your collection
    2. Use the built-in "checkout" system, which essentially creates a type of rental store. You can check periodically on all borrowed DVDs and get them back when needed.

I stopped loaning out discs after the second person said "I haven't watched it yet.", three weeks after "You have that DVD?! Let me borrow it! Please, please, please!" Reminds me of the one (or two) guys that posted about copying rentals to make it more convenient for the rental store, so that they could watch it at their leisure.
