Media Arts Multimedia Project

I am looking for some suggestions for a project in my class. We have the whole semseter to work on it so it has to be pretty comprehensive. We can use any and all the programs we have learned such as:
Final Cut Pro
Director
Dreamweaver
Flash
Just to name a few. Obviously we can use video. So please help out with some suggestions for a project

1. Documentary on a historical subject/topical subject
complete with "reference" website
2. Pilot episode of a tv show in any type of genre
3. a long form music video ala Scorcese's {sp} Bad video
or Landis's Thriller video, incorporating Flash Animation
4. a short ( 40 min or so) Fan Film
5. A promotional piece on the school's Multimedia Department,
complete with testamonials, an interactive website, and
splash animation in flash.

that's what I would do given time/resources/etc.

I have nothing to add. The suggestions given in the first reply are all pretty standard. My only suggestions are (1) start writing scripts right now, you can throw away whatever you don't like later (2) be sure you REALLY know the software mentioned, as it's not easy for advanced work, (3) be sure whatever you do is creative, and (4) if you have to work with others, and they are lazy asses or are otherwise worthless or in the way, throw them out and get somebody better to help.

I haven't seen any of them. The closest I've seen is Boogie Nights, which is fiction. The behind the scenes world of Vivid, for example, from casting to editing, given interesting personalities, could be really revealing and unlike the usual Special Feature "Making Of" docs more than simply taking heads[jobs].
