  1. I have several AVI files (Xvid) which were downloaded through eMule. Unfortunately these files are incomplete and so only bits and pieces are good. I'm wondering if there's a tool which can remove the incomplete parts so that I can watch what has downloaed.

I've seen the manual bad frames approach through VDub but I would like an automatic approach.

    Thanks.

VLC will let you watch incomplete downloads. It does require a certain minimum be made available, but I believe you can set emule to put priority on getting the headers down first.

  3. Yes VLC is a terrifc media player. I've used it occassionally to play my partial videos but this time when it plays it seems to freeze up even taking down my CPU by 60%. Basically it refuses to move along to other good frames. This is why i was hoping for some editor/fixer which can extract the good frames and be done with it...

I don't know of anything that nicely repairs bad downloads, only things like DivFix, which can repair idexes etc.
