Hi all,I've been given a pioneer dvd rom drive, DVD-150, from an aeroplane apparently.Used for storing data, but what for,I don't know.I've installed it in a PC and XP gives it's name in Propities, but I cannot get it to read a DVD(Film and Data)and a CD(music and Data).Would I need to change its Firmware?I Googled it and it returned nothing! All I need it to do is play DVD Videos for my 6 year old daughter.Thankyou.

    Hi,

I have an old Pioneer DVD ROM drive, DVD 114, I think. I remember trying to get more firmware and information for it; and, as I recall, Pioneer has a number of discrete sites for their products.

You may need to find both firmware and driver software for WinXP to support it. Also, try the (official) Microsoft Update site(where you get updates for XP); do it manually(custom) and look for hardware updates. There might be something for it there.

I don't want to patronize you, but also get all the model numbers etc from the case as well as the place of manufacture. They might help.

    HTH.
