  1. I have home movies on VHS tapes, I then copy them onto DVD+RW Disc using the Sony Model RDR-VX500.
I then go to computer and try to make additional copies. The latest progam I tried to use is called 1ClickDVDCopy. When trying to copy it I get the following error message" This DVD contains bad sectors. This error is due to a copy protection scheme on the original DVD. 1Click DVD Copy does not remove copy protection." Is there a setting to turn copy rotection off on my burned DVDS or is there a flaw in the unit?

I have also tried several other different programs I get errors. When using Nero6 I get "Nero Recode 2 encountered an error and cannot continue. Encoding error-illegal program state occured." When using CloneDVD I get another simular encoding error. I have also tried compying it on to my computer using a DVD Dycryter program and tried using Nero6 and CloneDVD and still get the same errors. Does this mean the DVDs created on this recorder can not be duplicated. I would like to be able to create a RW DVD edit it to my likings and then create
a copy of it. Is there a certain computer program I should be using.
    Please Help ASAP
    Thanks,
    Clay

Ccassell, I had the same situation. I tried the same programs as you on DVD's I made from home movies. I was told by tech support from one of the vendors of those copy programs to use a regular DVD copier program. Ashampoo worked for me. I don't know if Nero had a problem for you, but if it can copy a standard DVD, then you should have no problems. Another option is to copy the DVD to an iso type image file, and then burn that image to a DVD. Good luck.
