Dear all, hello.
I am in the process of making a movie.
I saw these wonderful transitions in the Hulk, on which i have questions on how to achieve them.I've prepared a jpg showing frame by frame the actual transitions.
I think they are done using masks or sth like thet.
I know only the basic stuff cocerning After FX.
If anyone would be kind enough to explain thoroughly how to achieve such effects, I would be most grateful and i think many of us will be inspired.
Regards
Mario

It has been a while since I watched Hulk, but the transitions you are talking about are best done in a motion graphics application like After Effects / Fusion / Combustion. They are a mixture of graphics, masks and shifting frames. Not hard to do with the right planning. Some of the better editors can probably do it as well, with a little more work. Certainly Premiere Pro and Vegas have the motion capabilities to do it.
It is difficult to explain the details in a few words. Perhaps pick one effect to start with, post a clip of it (as was sugegsted) and then see what response you get.Read my blog here.
