    Hi everyone

I am a disabled OAP and a newbie and cannot see the handbook very well. I have bought a Pioneer DVR-RT501-S and I have done a channel setup and all the channels including Sky are there from 1 to 6, but if i press channel 6 for Sky to record the 6 flashes and it will not record but all the others will.I have changed over from AV1 to AV2 and back again but I still cannot record.

Also must I only record from the AV button or can I use the normal channels.

    Can someone help me please.

    Thanks

    Ken

  2. Ken,

You can download the manual from this link, and zoom in using Adobe PDF allowing you to read the manual. Just in case you ever need to refer to it.

I'm afraid that I don't know the answer to your question, but I thought it may be helpful for you to get the manual in a usable form.

    Best of luck,

    Hi Ken
I've had Sky Digital for over ten years & a DVD Recorder for more than five
years, so maybe I can help you.

But first there is certain information I need regards your equitment.

As your DVD Recorder got 2 scart connections at the rear, one marked
    EXT.1 the other EXT.2.

As your Sky box got 2 scart connections at the rear one marked TV the
    other marked VCR.

Finally as your TV got two scarts if so is one marked RGB.

If you have or if close, post me back and I tell you how to set your DVD to
    record from Sky.

Your scart connections from Sky, DVD Recorder & TV should be as follows.

Scart lead from the Sky TV connection to the EXT.2 on the DVD Recorder.

Scart lead from the DVD Recorder EXT.1 to TV AV1.

If you look at the back of the DVD Recorder the scart connections should
be marked EXT.1 & Ext.2. These scarts are for specific purpose of (EXT.1)
connection to TV, EXT.2 to connect a external device DVD or VCR.

If you can set it like above to test if its OK, turn on the TV, turn on the Sky
leave the DVD turned off. If there is no picture press the AV button on your
TV remote and set to AV1.

Please let me know if this works, then I can explain how to record Sky
    programs on your DVD Recorder.

    Hi Ken

If you still need help to record Sky Programs, let me know. To set up your
DVD Recorder can be a little tricky because of my lack of knowledge of
your Recorder but it can be done.
