  1. if a VCD movie that has been converted to VCD in tmpg, does it HAVE to meet the vcd standards to work in the dvd player. cuz i did a convert, and my mpeg properties are a bit off. here is what i got for my jurassic park 3 properties AFTER being converted, which it probably didnt need to be at all, i forget why i did it.

    system tab:
1.4 Video Cd on the little bar graph ???
    1.411 mbits/sec
Flags: fixed bit; csps; audio lock; video lock

    video 01 tab:
    1.0 video on bar ????
    1.50 mbits/sec
    25 fps
    352*288

and this vcd barely works on my dvd player, i cant see anything because of all the scrambled up boxes, its looks like your watching the playboy chan when you havent paid for it, not that ive ever done that. ive just heard stories.

Well the dimensions and frame rate seems like PAL so I don't know if you're wanting PAL or NTSC. NTSC is 352x240 and 29.97fps. As far as the bit rate goes a standard VCD is 1150kb/s video and 224kb/s audio.

So you may have to reencode it.

That clip is a PAL clip, if you are trying to play it on a NTSC DVD player w/ NTSC TV, you'll have to enter the setup menu for your DVD player and change the output type to NTSC. Most DVD players ship with option set to auto, or default, this means that if it's fed a PAL signal, it tries to output PAL, which your TV can't decode. By setting the output setting to NTSC, your DVD player will always output a NTSC signal, which may cause the resolution to be reformatted, either by cutting off 44 lines, or how ever your player decides to handle this.
