I have an Mpeg2 video, 1 hr 25 min long, VBR 8mbps max, target of 6, 160khz audio. I use Ulead video Studio 9 to create a wav file. Open this file in Goldwave, and my audio only has the left channel, so I delete the right channel and copy the left over. I then use the EQ to cut out the high frequency to remove hiss and save.

When I add it back to my video, it doesn't sync up. Is there something I'm doing wrong? It's about a 50-50 hit and miss when I use this approach. Sometimes it's perfect, sometimes I end up with sync problems.

Assuming both channels start at the same point, you should not have any problems. I suspect it is something you are doing when you copy/paste.

Forgive me if i'm wrong or it's a stupid suggestion or you've tried it but i was just thinking depending on which way it's out of sync, insert or remove a silence from the beginning of the audio track according to how much it's out of sync...if you wanna tell exactly how much it's out of sync, "syncview alignment tool" lets you adjust away until you know its exact...hope this helps.

Might help demuxing audio in another app, possibly DGIndex. Might help doing any conversion to wav (if needed) in the audio app. Many prog. that demux will also give you the audio delay, if any -- some offer to correct, or use separate app to add silence etc. One thing I have found, is that some prog. report different delay values -- just something to watch for...
