One of my DVD players broke and I am also looking for the S-VHS with TBC. I found this JVC model that has both.

According to the JVC this is a new model. It has a lot of S-VHS correcting features and a DVD recorder.
Any ideas how good this might be?

Combos are never good. You need a separate DVD recorder and SVHS recorder. I prefer JVC. Due to most of the 76xx-99xx usually has TBC. Not the 8xxx which is older model. And you can't go wrong with either JVC, Pioneer DVD Recorder. Good Luck!

Not sure on that model, but the JVC SR-MV50U is supposed to be pretty decent. But it's still a combo unit, so expect shortened lifespan, with no real savings in cost over purchasing separate units.

So, either JVC HR-S7800 or JVC HR S-9800U would be perfect?
