  1. Hey
    I made a template for SVCD. Its MPEG 2, 720*480, 4:3 display, 29.97 fps, automatic VBR, 99999, 0 automatic.
My quesiton is if its gonna matter if the bitrate is high or low for my template, and what would happan if I lower the frame rate to 23.976 fps?
    Thankx dudes

  2. SVCD doesn't support 23.976fps. If your gonna play this in a standalone then you WILL have problems

  3. First, you have a template, but not SVCD. I believe the SVCD standard (ha) does support 23.976, just not all players. with a 3:2 pulldown on playback flag set, my APEX does just fine.
Haven't used AVBR, but with lower framerate you can lower bitrate slightly w/same quality.

My question to you is why sooo high on the bitrate??...you must not be concern about filesize with a bitrate of 99999.
Bitrate only matter when it comes to how much information you are trying to fit into a given amount of drive space.

"what would happan if I lower the frame rate to 23.976 fps? "

keeping the same bitrate, what happens is that you get more bits spread across less frames, thus producing a higher fidelity copy...which in some cases can lead to better perceptual quality.

    Not true.
