  1. I've got Vegas 6 (updated with the latest patches), with Vegas 4 I used to be able to add track fx using the fx buttons, by clicking "add", and then "ok", the video fx would be applied and visible. With Vegas 6, even after reading the manual and help files, it won't actually apply any fx (color correction/filters etc...) to the video track. Got any suggestions?

You can add FX at the clip and at the track level in Vegas 6 (like 5). Are you sure you applied it at the track level ?

You can do a split screen preview of the FX using the preview window. You can choose any area of the preview screen by dragging out a rectangle with the mouse. Make sure at least some of the screen has been selected.

  3. I'll have a video track with video clips in it, I click on a clip and click on the rectangular track fx button to add the fx. This is what doesn't work.

The track FX button is not rectangular. What button are you talking about?

Clicking on a clip adds the FX to that clip only, not the entire track. Either right-click on the track and select Track FX, or use the track FX button on the track header (down the left hand side)

  7. It is rectangular, it's in the screenshot above your post, the green rectangle with two green circles next to it. I right-click on a video clip, select any sortof fx using that button, use the pull-down menu to select a preset, and then I hit apply and ok. I still can't see any of the fx applied in the preview window. Like I said earlier, this used to work in Vegas 4.

  8. I think if you've done all that, your best bet would most likely be just to reinstall the software.

1 is for Traack FX and applies it to the whole track
2 is for Video FX and applies the effect only to that clip

    Which are you using ?
