Can't find 4X DVD-R discs any more in Montreal. Any one knows where I can find them?
    Thanks,

You can order them. Do a Google search for 'canada 4x dvd discs'' or similar and you should find some suppliers.

4X are getting harder to find.

Why bother? 8X "Made In Japan" Maxells can be had for under $30CAD/100 at Wal-Mart Canada. My old Panasonic E80H accepts them just fine...

  4. Not all burners can deal with 8x media - and some manufacturers can't be bothered to offer firmware updates for their 4x drives to deal with 8x media (Sony - 510a, for example).
Meritline.com still offers Ritek 4x media.

Good quality 8X media supports burning at 4X speed with 4X drives. It is true, however, that older drives with old firmware can have difficulty accepting newer media. Updating the drive's firmware, if possible, is a good idea. However, my Pioneer DVR-510H with its 4X drive burns fine to 16X Verbatim discs and it still has its original firmware.

Supermediastore has 4x T.Y. discs. You'll have to check with them on shipments to Canada.

Well, the "4x" TY discs often turn out to be 8x or even 16x. I think all the TYG01 is about gone.
