Hi fellows, I'm having strange issues with my LiteOn dvd recorders. I bought 2 of the afore mentioned units and my problem is this..
Both units seemed to work fine, My setups are as follows:
- Pscan on
- Tv signal set to cable
- Source of video ....DV/front panel (From either DV camera or Super 8...via IEEE1394)
- Connection to tv via component out
- Quality of recording...HQ or SP
- Media Ridata +
When I first installed the units and tested them...they worked fine and was able to record about 6 DVD discs in between the 2 recorders. Until for some strange and unknown reasons the signal on my TV has gone completely black with the exception of a 1/2 inch strip that runs vertical from top to botton and in some cases an additional rectangular viewing area of about 2x10 inches of viewing screen appears ramdomly abouts on the tv screen. At first I thought I had gotten a defective machine but the problem presented itself again on my second unit.
Moreover....this problem does not occurs when I'm simply watching an already recorded disc or when I'm getting ready to start recording a new DVD (I'm even able to view the images from my camera sources before I start the recordings)...It pops out as soon as I insert a Blank new DVD and close the tray to start recording......Mind you that even thought I'm not able to view my tv screen...the recording itself complets without any problems whatsoever..(I 'm still able to watch the video using the camera viewfinder while its in the process of transfering).
What do you guys think my problem is?
Could it be a defective IEEE 1394 cable, even though I'm able to transfer without problems?
Could it be my RCA cables from the recorder to the Tv?
Bad setting somewhere on my recorder?.
Please note..I'm using the units exclusively to transfer home movies (VHS, regular and super 8)
the problem only happens when I insert a blank DVD into the tray and procede to close it.
Other than that..everything is working fine.
Please, let me know what you guys think.
Thankyou.
