  1. I have been to 3 Best Buys stores, 2 Comp USAs, 2 Staples, 1 Office Depot and 1 Circuit City, 1 Walmart, 1 Target and 1 KMart and I've checked some of these stores again later. Absolutely no MIJ Fuji or Verbatim Data Life DVD+Rs at any of them.

This is most unusual! Is anyone else having trouble finding these as well?

I've never seen MADE IN JAPAN VERBATIM DVD+R. I've used the MADE IN TAIWAN VERBATIM DVD+R with no problems. BEST BUY & COMPUSA have MADE IN JAPAN DVD+R under the SONY & FUJI brands which is TAIYO YUDEN media code which is good media to use.

  4. yes, I'm having some trouble. All the Fuji DVD-Rs at my local Best Buys seem to be from Taiwan and are wrapped in a new silver packaging. Up until last month I've been able to find the old blue wrapped MIJ DVD-Rs on sale at least once a month. Haven't paid much attention to +R.

I've seen this odd ball packaging at Best Buy and Fry's. Probably getting rid of old stock. I bought at Fry's today 19.99 for 50, says Made in Japan on outer wrap and on DVD. Appears to be TY. I've also seen similar 30 pack for 9.99 which isn't bad. Don't care for the dark colored disks, but I usually just label with a sharpie anyway.

Prices on MIJ single layer from bricks and mortar stores seem to be coming down when you can find them. $20 for 50 is okay but not terribly exciting anymore.

  5. I think a lot of people have a hard time finding MIJ in any brand.

There's no such thing as DataLife(Plus) at the retail end anymore, at least in the US/Canada, but it doesn't matter since all of the Verbatim 8x or 16x DVD media is essentially DLP anyway (MCC media with Azo dye). But yes, as others have said, there's never been any MIJ Verbatim on this side of the Atlantic.

I've never seen MIJ Verbatim DataLife either
I lumped Verbatim DataLife together w/MIJ Fuji.
These are the 2 brands I prefer.

Verbatim DataLife I think I can get online but
what online store can I buy MIJ Fuji (which I found to be less expensive at times) and be sure I'll be getting the MIJ +R discs?

    Thanks, all.

  8. I think the Fuji MIJs are all Taiyo Yuden so just go online and buy Taiyo Yuden. I haven't because I like paying cash and don't buy very many at once.
