  1. I was on here before unable to burn a dvd and I ended up taking the burning back but recently I got a new computer and came installed a dvd burner. I have several .avi video files that im hoping to get on to DVD, I have "Sonic" software that came with my computer. When I opened myDVDplus in sonic and went to creat my project and dvd it says the file is 9.73 GB used and below says free space remaining -5028.16. As well my blank dvd is a maxwell dvd-r and is only 4.7GB. So basically my question is there a step im missing? should the file be this large?

I'm not too familiar with Sonic's software these days, but there are two steps that your software will need to do: make the MPEG-2 file(s) and author the DVD. Perhaps you are trying to burn the AVI file directly to DVD. You need to look for something in your software about making a DVD video. Hopefully, it will then guide you through the steps.
Tools used: ScenalyzerLive 4.0, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Adobe After Effects 7.0 Professional, Adobe Encore DVD 2.0, IFOedit 0.96, DVD-lab PRO 1.53, Adobe Audition 2.0
