does any know more info about liteon 5005x

I own the 5005x, it records good and everything, but the tv tuner is bad i think. When i use the tuner, sometimes i see black&white, jumping between b&w to color, or stays color. lotta ppl said this machine an ilo but if you look the back side of the dvd palyer, it looks exactly like the liteon 5005. does any know or heard of any hacks for this unit and it doesnt have that LP 3 hour recording mode, which i really want.

I think you can look under "DVD Recorders" on this web site and search for your model to find the address for the 3 hr hack.

If your tuner is bad, connect a VCR to your rear composite input and use the VCR as a tuner. I use this on my 5005 because it gives better results than the tuner in the DVD recorder. This should work as long as it is just the tuner that is bad.

I read (can't remember where) that the 5005 is not a stereo tuner anyway. This is the other reason I use the VCR tuner. I've toyed with using an old cable box for a tuner via the cable input but haven't got around to it yet.
