  1. Hi
    I need help buying a computer. I am not able to build my own system( I know this is the best way) so I am looking to buy one of these

    DELL XPS 600
    ALIENWARE Area-51 ALX
    FALCON PC MACH V
    VOODOO PC OMEN

    Can anyone tell me what would be the best buy or even another brand? I mean not by price wise, I want a PC that has the best warranty tech surpport and are rated the best? Don't want a problem PC also.(You know one that breaks down always) What do you think guys? Anyone have any experience with these models? I want to know both good and bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Shawn

    hi,

    cant help much as i build my own. it is possible to buy a fairly inexpensive computer these days. i would bet all of the above have good warrenties/support etc. dont bother with "the newest,fastest,biggest etc" cause in 4 months it wont be. i would start here;

  4. Even if you don't know how to build your own system, most computer stores should be able to build it for you based on the parts you specify; this is what I do, although I have built a system before, my latest one I had assembled by the store I bought the parts from.

    alot of computer makers also give you the option to build your own. you pick a base model then add what you want, they build it,test it and ship it to you. i know dell does. heres another one:

    if you go this way visit this link also to check on the place before buying from them:

    Sounds very custom and very pricey - you might want to look into an alienware computer. They're known for gaming and high end computers - though VERY expensive.
    Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  8. Thanks guys for the help. I am also considering Alienware but researching online regarding their tech support and customer service I see that other people have had a lot of problems when the product breaks down and having to deal with them. Is this true? has anyone had any issues with them? Otherwise the Computers they make seems very high end quality. The only issue I hear that Dell has is their Tech support is from India and it is really hard to deal with them if something happens. Would like to know how the Falcon NW, Velocity Micro and the Voodo PC'S support compares to these. Anyone know?

    All fall into my over-priced falling into the brand name trap category.

    If you're going to spend that kind of cash on a machine and don't want to build it yourself take the specs to local reputable shop and have them give you an estimate. I think you'll find it's cheaper and I provividing it's a reputable shop you'll get more support than you need.
