I have learnt a lot about burning disks , DVD & VCD but just lately I have been experiencing problems with a couple of Dvdrip mpeg movies I have burnt to disk playing on my standalone player almost all the way thru and then stopping , and when I pick up the remote sometimes it will start again from the beginning . These are movies that I have tried squashing into the 700mb 80 min CD's using NeroVision Express 3 and when that played up using Nerovison 3 burning to DVD . In both cases I have used the lowest possible burning speed 2x .
When I try burning other movies using a bin & cue file I find that they are ok , but are very dark in their reproduction , but at least they play all the way thru .
I have tried using these disks on 2 separate stand alone DVD players with the same results . I would love to be able to play Dvdrip mpeg movies with the guarantee that I can see them the whole way thru .
Could anyone be able to pick up what I may be doing wrong , as far as I know I seem to have picked up most of the clues about burning , but maybe I am missing something .![]()

You need to trouble shoot a little to isolate where the problem is occuring. Have you tried playing the ripped files before burning them to cdr to verify they are complete and not corrupt? If the ripped files are good, then there is a problem in the burning process.

Hi,
Did you label the discs with adhesive "sticky labels"?? There are many players that don't like discs with sticky labels and the symptoms usually are exactly what you are describing. There is an endless thread on this forum about that very subject. -
Just an update
I downloaded Nero CD-DVD Speed Version 4.10 found problems with discs so went and bought HP DVD+RW 4x speed Made by Phillips , burnt to them 2 of the movies I had problems with previously, and they played perfectly in my DVD player . So that is one of the problems solved
No , I never use labels of any type , just write the title with CD pen
Thanks for the replies to my problem
