  1. I bought my first bunch of blank Riteck DVD-R's. They have a printable cover. The media code is "RiteckG05", there doesn't seem to be any information available about these discs. I was scared to try Riteck since some say the quality has went down. The company says that these are "Geniune Riteck".

I bought these disc mainly because this company will do business by money order and that is important to me, because I don't have a credit card. The cost was $38.00 for 50 or .76 per disc. Is this a reasonable price? The company only sells Riteck Discs. I want to buy a printer to print on the DVD covers with, that is why I bought these.

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me about these disc's.

Hopefully the reason you can't find info on them is because of a typo, do you mean Ritek G05?

If so, re-research and you'll see these are decent, 'middle of the road' disks. I use these pretty much exclusively now and have never had a coaster using my Pioneer DVR-108.

As for price not sure, I buy in sterling at about 20p/disk (also full face printable).

If thats not a typo and really are "Riteck" then never hear of them either (and only a couple of hits in google too).

From my experience, not really. I can buy genuine Taiyo Yuden media at blankmedia.ca for less than that. In fact, I can buy 100 discs for under $60.

  4. e404pnf: I was wrong after putting the disc in DVD Decrypter, I can see the media code is "RITEKG05". A local dealer told me I could perhaps buy some from him for 10 dollars cheaper. If the media code matches these I will know they are the same discs at a cheaper price. Sony DVD's are my personal favorites, maybe someday they will make some with printable covers. Thank you for the information you provided.

non-linear: Thank you for the information you provided. I have checked out blankmedia.ca but they only want paypal or credit card business, so I won't be able to buy those geniune Tayo Yuden blank DVD-R's. Maybe someday they will let someone buy there products by Money Order.
