I have a Dell PC, I want to reformat my PC with my WIndows Xp Home, but is very badly scratched and cannot read off CD, I bought the pc 4 years ago, is it possible to obtain a replacement from Dell or Microsoft? I till have the sales invoice.

If you have deep scratches the disk is a goner; however, you may want to review this link and it may help you...

If you can prove that you own it, MS will replace the disk for a nominal charge. (I think it's about $25)
