A friend is on his way over from out of town and Im having him pick up the EPSON Stylus Photo 200 for me (its on clearance). Does anyone have any experience in refilling this particular model? And has anyone used a chip resetter on one of these?

Well, I haven't had any experience with that model, but I sure have with Epson. I had a C80, which had chipped carts. I ordered from an online refiller and their carts didn't work. Problem with the chip resetters is that Epson moves the location of the contacts slightly evey so often so that whatever chipsetter you have will not work. I finally gave up and literally gave away my C80 and bought a Canon. I am just as happy with the print and photo quality at 66% less than Epson charges.

The C80 gave me 44 printed sheets per cart. If you take a standard pack of 500 sheets typewriter paper, divide it by 44, you come up with 11 carts of Epson ink to print one pack of paper. Thats on draft mode.

11 x $32 = $352; so it costs $352 to print one (1) standard package of typing paper. Better than a license to steal.

Ok got it and WOW, the first dvd turned out great. I ordered a chip resetter so I can refill, I hope that goes as smooth as setting this up and using it. Right off the bat I knew I had to change the inner hub size and viola! Still would like to know what other people think of this setup for printing cd and dvd's. And refilling the cartridges.

ranchhand, all I will be using this for is printing cd/dvd's. I have other printers I use for anything else, and the cartridges refill easily.

  5. b1tchm4gn3t, if you have read the other threads about this printer and its near identical brother, the R300, I don't have to warn you to be very cautious using 3rd party ink. This printer is almost designed to clog up and fail unless you use Epson's inefficient and overpriced original cartridges.

I used a CIS I bought from ebay, they're more like refillable cartridges, with a stopper and a syringe-like attachment for the ink bottles to refill. I believe you can oreder it from http://www.peripower.com. I think the prints are fairly good, and the ink makes a silver printable disc look extremely nice.

    Edit:

I just checked the site, you can't buy from them but they list resellers you can buy from.
