    I want to use a font like the convect style, but it costs $30. Is there anyway of creating a font or an effect that would look similar to these Convecta Fonts

    Is it for an image? Not sure what your using but I can just convert text from 2-D to 3-D Chisled to make it look like that.

    The text is going to be used for dvd cover. I have photoshop if that helps. How can I make 2-d font to 3-d font?

    Try dafont.com to find something similar to the font you want (if you get the french version just look for the english link, unless you prefer french)

    The try google with 'photoshop 3d text tutorial' in the search field for 1000+ ways of creating 3d text in photoshop

    Doesn't help me because I don't have it. In my program it's right on the text toolpanel on drop down menu.

    Have you tried fiddling around with the layer effects? You might achieve somthing close with embosses, shadowing, gradients, etc.

    I'm going to start working on that now....I'm pretty good with creating manipulating layers, and images. I just haven't done to much work with text, the different fonts, and how to manipulate them yet.....always a work in process.

    Something like Cool3d would work. That seems to be specifically what it does. That's mainly what I use it for.
