I just recently upgraded my machine from an Abit KT-7A to an Asus A8V Deluxe. My Pinnacle Pro-ONE/Premiere 6.0 does not seem to be compatible. Unless I get a solution from Asus or Pinnacle Support (good luck) I will need a new solution. The A8V Deluxe has a 1394 connection so capturing and printing to miniDV should be fine. My main concerns are:
-Capturing and outputting to analog sources (SVHS and Hi-8 decks).
I do offer to accept "legacy" formats.
-Previewing on a (TV) monitor
I do not trust computer monitors for color and safe margins.
Now I do like some of the real-time capabilities of the Pro-ONE: transitions, slow motion, etc. But they are not an absolute necesity.
Help me with a solution for my Athlon 3500 64/A8V Deluxe.
It would cost me $199 to upgrade to Premiere Pro so I'm thinking of a complete capture solution.
-Should I just get an analog(stereo w/S-Video) to DV (any recommendations)?
-Would Pinnacle Edition Pro with the breakout box be suitable?
-Is there a Sony Vegas option with hardware?
-Matrox only approves Pentium machines. Does anyone Havea Matrox running on an Athlon system?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
