  1. I have a sony dcr-trv19. The accessories I have now are the NP-QM91 battery, .45 wide angel lens, a external stereo mic with 90*/120" switch(I don't remember the model number), and tripod and carrying case.

I use my camcorder just for fun, so what other accessories could I get? I've seen an external light for Nightshot. Is it worth the money?

What about a 4 hour or more(on SP) minidv tape? All my other tapes are maxell tapes, but I didn't see a maxell 4 tape. Are the quality of these types of tapes still good in SP mode? I've read you should only use the same brand of minidv tapes, is this still true? I mentioned that I haven't seen a 4 hour maxell tape because I am thinking I shouldn't mix brands.

I do need another carrying case for just mini dv tapes and accessories. I have about 30 tapes and the case I use now holds about 10 with my camcorder and all the accessories I have now. Is there a carrying case for 20+ minidv tapes and accesories(doesn't need to hold the camcorder)?

What about lens filters for my .45 lens? Is .45 the measurement I need to know to see if they fit? I've seen filters for videotaping in bright sunlight, what other types of filters do they have?

My camcorder has a 10x optical zoom. How large of a telephoto lens could I get?

    Thanks.

  2. yes I think .45 mm is the measurement you need. The rim of the lens should have the lens size printed on it. Many people keep UV filters on their lenses to protect the lens and improve outdoor images. Don't know much about it, but I use one anyway. Various photgraphy websites can tell you more than you ever want to know about filters, and you can buy unusual sizes off the web, I think.

cheap light tripod for mobility or heavy expensive tripod for stability and smooth performance, or both if you like.

I wouldn't try to save money on tapes. Looks like you've spent quite a bit already.

2 gallon ziploc bags for rainy days or water sports? Jaunty beret?

I have the Sony external infrared light for my cam, and I think it is great. One time, I caught on tape a neighbor at night doing vandalism without him knowing it. Boy, was he surprised when the Police showed up to arrest him!
