I'd like to think I have learned my lesson on black friday 2004. Stay home. Resist the temptation to kill another human, or vise versa. Does anyone know if black friday sales are limited to retailers ? Do online retailers offer any special deals on this day ?

As far as online deals, I remember CompUSA did something like that last year.

I will never go out on Black Friday again. Looooonnnnnnngggggggg line hours before opening then everything is sold out by the time you even reach the door. All this mess just to save a few bucks?

I'd rather spend $1600 on a tv and have it delivered to my house than get up even before the crack of dawn to wait out in the cold and rush in to get the tv (if I'm lucky) and then have to worry about how I'm going to get it to my house and all just to save $200.

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

last year was my first (and LAST!!!) Black Friday experience...

I've never heard of any online retailers participating in this kind of madness (time zone issues come to mind for one thing), but I suppose anything is possible

there are a ton of websites with info on Black Friday -- my boss just emailed me CompUSA's flier for this year's madness

I worked retail just after High-school. Black Fridays were the times you wanted to hide in the corner under an impulse pile of some educational junk. However, the best thing is when there's an impatient Dick waiting in line and it's around your break-time. You take customers up until that person comes up and then you close out the register so your replacement can come in. The change over should've only been about 3-5 min, but I just took my time lifting the drawer and then grabbing the non-cash paperwork, then pulling my key out. To notify my replacement the person is a jerk, I'd close the empty drawer telling them to take their time putting it back in and getting ready. The Dicks are usually the impatient people who go in for a $2.50 item and complain that the service of the store is s**t, but aren't willing to leave and go across the street because they're subject to the same delay problems & a $2 higher price.

I can think of 1 reason they should visit the other store.............

It all depends on where you live.

If you're in a relatively small place, population 25,000, you're good to go.

If you're in one of those mega-cities like Chicago or Los Angeles, population 2 million, consider staying home.

I live in Las Vegas. it's elbow to elbow at the adult bookstores already. Now there'll be kids running around my feet. A guy can't buy a vinyl sheep in peace anymore. I'll just have to get my good buddy Capmaster a coloring book of sheep instead.
