  1. Databank dvd-r 4x or Ritek dvd-r G04's? Which -R media would be better for my LiteOn 832s? I know neither are excellent for it, but I just want to know the better of the two.

Databank dvd+r 8x or Ritek dvd+r R03's? Which +R media would be better for my LiteOn 832s?

All would only be burned at 4x max no matter what they are rated for.

    Thanks

I have a lite-on drive and always used Ritek media with it. Ritek always worked great.

  3. According to the media list to the left, your Databank discs ARE Ritek G04... Databank don't make their own discs. So your choice comes down to price, availability and which you think looks the nicest. As far as your writer and playback device goes, what they hell. They're identical.

Your +R's are likely to be Ricoh - and traditionally they're pretty good.

Ritek gets bad press here sometimes but it seems to be regional - in the UK Ritek media seems to be of a higher quality than in some parts of the world, but as a Pioneer owner who doesn't use bastardised firmware I stand up for the Ritek's although I haven't used any of their +R media.

The quality of Ritek G04 discs went downhill when the G05 came out. I've been using G05 ever since and had no problems. By that I mean I've not had a single failed burn and of 94 copies that have been supplied to customers not one has come back with playback problems.

  5. Here in Australia Databank dvd-r are made by gigastorage. The thermal printable ones are made by Sony.

I think at this stage I'll try the Ritek G05 -r's and stick with my Ritek R03 +r's as well.
