Noticed 8x stacks of these at a local close out store for $17.99 per stack of 50. Never have used JVC and was wondering how these compare to other brands. Thanks for any input.

I've been using JVC DVD-R media for about two years now and have never had an issue.

Brand means nothing. JVC doesn't make discs.
The only JVC branded media I have seen to date is complete crap. WEALTHFAIR (WFKA) garbage from China. Barf.

JVC uses different manufacturer's discs for different packaging. The 5 packs of 8x -R in jewel cases sold at Fry's in my experience are TYG02 made in Japan, but the spindles of 50 are definitely something different media.
