Everyone,
I am trying to convert a full season of one my shows which has 25 avi files. When I highlight all the files and check the full size it equals to 8.57 gigs. Is there any way I can convert all those files to a single DL dvd? When I tried with DivxtoDVD the size changes to more than 23 gigs? Any reason why?
Thanks everyone....

Because you are trying to equate the size of your source files, which are probably Divx/Xvid, to the size of the DVD, whixh requires mpeg2 video. There is no comprarison in size.
Look at the combined running time instead. Assuming, for this example, that your 25 files each run 22 minutes. You now have a running time of 550 minutes, or over 9 hours. This patently will not fit nicely on a DL disk at full D1 resolution without using a seriously low bitrate - around 1800 kbps. You could do it using VCD resolution, but DivxtoDVD only works in full D1.
Start your lessons with What is DVD (top left menu), then go through some of the AVI to DVD guides. DivxtoDVD is a good, quick, one-click solution to getting one or two 90 minute avis onto a single disk, but it doesn't work miracles.
What you are trying to do will take more experience than you currently have. When was the last time you saw a commercial disk with 9+ hours on a single side ?Read my blog here.
