  1. hey guys,

i've got a bootleg of a concert on VHS that i'd like to convert to DVD. i have a video card with a video input, as well as a dvd burner, but i'd rather not spend hours upon hours doing this. is there a shop in toronto that anyone can vouch for? what's a reasonable price for this service? i tried googling and came up with 'overseas video lab', but they charge 30$ for every hour of video, plus 5 for the dvd plus taxes. considering my bootleg is 2 hours long, this would put me in the 80$ range which i think is totally unreasonable.

also, i've heard that through the conversion process, the VHS tape is wiped totally clean and the data on it is entirely lost. is this information accurate?

    much thanks

if you want to go the cheapest route, you could go buy a dvd-recorder, use it & return it.

as far as the conversion process wiping the tape clean, that's bullshit. some companies might say that so they dont have to return the vhs to you.
