    having just purchased fy first dvd drive I'm a little lost.

    Am having a problem with the cd just stopping on one computer and stopping and starting on the second

    specs
    elements motherboard with VIA chipset
    1.2 gig atholon proccessor
    40 gig ata100 HD
    cyberdrive 16 dvd drive

    one with 256 meg memory
    onboard sound
    nvidia graphics 32 meg
    this one just stops playing

    second one has
    512 meg memory
    soundblaster audigy sound
    radeon 64 meg video

    this one starts and stops.

    Its starting to get annoying

    any ideas are greatly appreciated

    what kind of dvd drive? is it external, internal, ide?
