This is question about duplicator not recorder, hope it's ok. But I'm going to buy a recorder with HD, and also, learn computer copying , but would also like to get duplicator also for ease which they provide.
Anyone know if there is a duplicator that can quantize a DVD over 4.7 GB , automatically for a blank single? thanks. anyone know if these even exist?

Nope... Same media to same media eg dvd9 to DL only, no dvd9 to dvd5

I believe the new Samsung dual-tray recorder will do what you want.
It will copy a DVD, but also allows you to pick the speed/resolution of the copy to combine multiple DVDs on to one.
I also assume, but am not sure, that you could just play a DVD in the player and then record with teh recorder in real time and it will resample everything, although I am not positive about that.
PS - It will NOT copy copyprotected material, and since the path from the player to the recorder is all internal, no way you can cheat that without another external player.
Its the Samsung DVD-tr520 and it's at Bestbuy.com
Do me a favor. If you do get it, post a good review of it for those of us considering it.
