  1. In The latest offering, The Motion Picture Industry Might market DVD's, with both regular DVD's and HD-DVD's on the same DVD and can play in both regular DVD player's and HD-DVD players, they are test marketing the concept around and a price point for the Deluxe DVD. With interactive games for the internet as well. And a few other widgets. This is not a product yet, just a trail ballon for consumers.

  3. I think this was reported a while ago, but I thought the gist of it was it was a flipper? DVD oneside, HD-DVD the other.

I suppose I could see how you could build into the HD-DVD standard for the player to look for a primary blue laser layer first, a second blue laser layer second, then a red laser primary layer third, but seems to me that my recollection of what was reported earlier would be a far more simple and reliable solution, so no real reason to guess that it isn't still what is being proposed.
