    Hi,

    Im using the ADVC55 and out of the blue am getting crackle on the audio with an SVHS recorder.

    It comes through in recording and playback. It is VERY crackly. Any suggestion. The video recorder was sent from Germany. Might it have got some kind of damage in transit etc? Could it be linked to this Crystal Video etc..?

    Could be many things: tracking, audio levels.

    You could try a commercial tape to compare. If that has the same problem, it points to the SVHS machine's mechanical alignment or settings.
