it was Layer Cake. i tried to rip it with dvd decrypter in file mode like i do all my others. what i notices right away and i thought it was strange was there was 95 files. for an average length movie i usually get anywhere between 10 and 45 files. i thought 95 was a lot. decrypter got a few minutes in and then had an error that it couldn't get past.
i downloaded and installed dvd fab decrypter and ripped it with that and it was fine. after the fip i shrunk it with dvd shrink, burned it with dvd decrypter and now it works in my dvd player like all the others.

just wanted to start a thread to kind of get it out there that if you encounter a movie that you can't rip with decrypter then try and use dvd fab. it worked for me.

do you guys know what makes it different for different people? i read on hese forums that some people could not rip the notebook or resident evil apoc and i ripped both those fine with decrypter. probably cause the dic they tried to rip was released later with the copy protection i'm thinking.

anyway, dvd fab is a great tool and very easy to use. if you have a problem try it

    Layer Cake is WAAAAAY old.
One of the last updates of DVD Decrypter would work on it.
The ARccOS protection has been changed/updated at least twice since that dvd.
But yes, dvd fab decrypter alone has worked great on the last 2 recent protected disc's i have tried it on

Could be a # of reasons, i saw someone state that DVDFab Decrypter will force it's way through or over errors, as someone was going nutz trying everything to rip a dvd & after everyone told him to clean the disc he posted back it had greasy fingerprints all over it LOL!!!

I did layer cake way back when it came out with just DVD Decrypter.
I never used or had to use DVDFab Decrypter until "Lords of Dogtown"
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=280469&highlight=

LOD and Bewitched so far are the only disc's i have had to use DVDFab Decrypter to rip. And i have never used anydvd or some of the other programs people seem to be using.

There are alot of dvd's coming out each week that don't have ARccOS,
all dvd's do not have ARccOS on them, it's sony's little baby and they don't seem to put it on every title they release, but the titles they do put it on, it seem's to be on all of them.

DVD Decrypter is still my #1 ripper/tool, i use it almost on a daily basis,
But like you, DVDFab Decrypter is also another one of my tools in case i hit something i need it for
