    Hi, I'm trying to convert .avi to mpeg1. Unfortunately everytime I do it I seem to get black handlebar lines on the right and left hand sides of the screen..

    Why? How can I avoid this..

    What converter are you using? What size (x by y, that is, not file size) is original, how about the mpeg you are willing to have?

    I sorted it.. I was being silly about the handlebars. I wanted to save it for a cdrom using FFMpeg.. I just ended up using the preset included in FFMpeg, and it looks fine
