    Depends on what I am converting from. I use Fairuse most of the time. For short videos, VirtualDub.

    Nandub can only encode to DivX 3 (aka MS MPEG4 V3) and MS MPEG4 V2 by the way so you couldn't use it to encode XviD.

    It actually doesn't make all that much difference. I would suggest mencoder or avs2avi.
