The best looking case is the one hidden away in a closet and out of sight. I don't care for mods, but a wooden mod is definitely a No-No.

I've been wanting to build my own case out of hardwood for years now, but I haven't had the time. If I ever do get around to it, I'll post some pictures.

The PC took a page from apple and tried something different case wise. First Alienware had those color cases (looks like colored antecs) then alot of companies copied those (I use one to this day) but with all things PC it went to far. Case modding, water cooling, tacky designs.

At this point I think I'd rather have a nice beige case again.

I still like mine in standard beige, hiding inside the desk, thank you
PC is a tool not a piece of art (although MAC dudes will argue ).
I dont see people displaying i.e. their power drills on the desk
I think it was 'cool' to show 'look everyone, i have a *computer*' some 20 or more years ago when it was very expensive toy, perhaps, but nowaday?
I'd be happy if I could stick this box inside the wall or something, so i wouldn't have to see the power and monitor cables at last.

When I will see wireless monitors then I'll say "yeah, thats cool".
But cases no matter how beautiful are still cases.
I dont want to see it at all near my desk, or in my living room (and yes, I have some kinda-modded, elegant $250 case for my PC-PVR matching the rest of my hi-fi toys that is in my living room, but thats exactly my point: it should have been invisible instead of me spending more $ to have it 'modded' or actually fitting to the rest of devices).

Hopefully PCs will be the size of cigarette pack sooner than later, and this problem - along will all this 'modding' - will be gone


The only modding I accept is the one needed to overclock or enhance performance.
Say NO to fishtank PCs!
