  1. how can i make xvid/divx avi to work with QuickTime Player 7?
    asking because i have problems with streaming avi files that are xvid and divx. i use QT plugin to play avi streams.

    i have ffdshow installed but not seem to be compatible with Quicktime..

    Quicktime doesn't use dshow or VfW so it can't make use of ffdshow. You could install 3ivX, but QT has problems with VBR mp3 audio in avi's and can't decode AC3. My advice would be not to use QT for playing avi's.

  3. i don't know what else to use. WMP don't play AVI streams in Opera.

    Well avi wasn't designed for streaming. I would suggest that you download it, then play it.

    Sounds like those file types aren't supported by QuickTime 7, in which case there isn't a way to make it work.

    You can try quicktime alternative to play the files, but it doesn't "stream" them, it downloads them and then plays them.
